"Helen’s communication with ourselves was excellent. She answered any queries we had with efficiency and was absolutely great with our children... We found the visit really tailored to our group and it fit into the year 6 curriculum perfectly thanks to Helen. The environment of the Mill lends itself perfectly to learn more about elements of Science. We will definitely be back. Thanks very much Helen!"

Helen leads education workshops at Howsham Mill, an 18th century watermill near Malton in North Yorkshire.
The Mill has been restored as an education centre in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and now generates renewable energy. The free school workshops at Howsham Mill can be tailored to suit the needs of the class, but often include den building, cooking over a fire, minibeasts or a focus on a particular science topic.
Please email Howsham Mill to enquire about our free school visits.
"Helen is amazing – she plans the activities perfectly and is flexible with timings which really suits the groups of children we bring. Her subject knowledge is fantastic and she is very enthusiastic. The children really enjoyed renovating the bug hotel and as a teacher I appreciated the input on classifying animals."
